Congratulations to 8th grader Elozino Ahworegba of Martin L. King, Jr. Middle School who won first place in the Gazette-Star Spelling Bee on March 12, 2010. Elozino competed against twenty-eight other contestants with the winning word being "sequitur". He will represent PGCPS in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. on June 2-4, 2010. Elozino received a trophy, a plaque, a gift certificate ($1,020.00) and a Webster’s Dictionary from the Gazette-Star Spelling Bee sponsor. A special thanks to his teacher Ms. Estrella Lumaban who helped prepare Elozino for the Spelling Bee. They made a great team. Good luck at the national competition Elozino!
